Monika Hegedus - Flute

Monika Hegedus - Flute

In many of Haydn symphonies, second flute plays same tone as the first. Therefore as a second flutist, she didn’t play all the symphonies, but she was one of important member of the Haydn Orchestra.
Mrs. Monika Hegedus was the principal flute player of Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra.

After long illness Mrs. Monika Hegedus passed away in early March. Her memorial service took place on 14th March in Budapest. She was only 45 years old and sadly left her 3 years old son.

Her last appearance with the Haydn Orchestra was January 2005. During the Swiss tour, she took up the first flute position.

Adam Fischer and his Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra dedicated their concert on 11th March to her and performed 2 Brahms symphonies. We send our condolences sincerely.
