200 years ago, the Mannheim Court Orchestra was best in the world and developed the evolutional style of performance. The city of Mannheim attracted many outstanding musicians like Mozart. At the beginning of this new century, Mannheim determined to revive this tradition with the International Orchestra Academy. The principal players of the National Theater Mannheim Orchestra and many experts in Germany will teach the style of 18th century music. The artistic director is of course Adam Fischer. He also conducts the student orchestra on the last day of the school.
Students have opportunities to receive section rehearsal or individual tutoring and perform several public concerts. In addition, they are encouraged to attend the guided tours or rehearsals of the Mannheim National Theater to obtain insights into the opera house.
The school runs from 15th to 27th of July 2001. Applications must be received by June 1st. The Academy provides the assistance for accommodation and international students are also welcomed. Details are on the Internet: http://mannheimerschule.de. The Fan Club supports this project and can also provide information in English and Japanese. If you have question, please contact us.

Not only the paper version of newsletter, Adam Fischer & Haydn Orchestra Fan Club has had its own Internet site since 1996. Recently, we decided to add more features to the home page and changed the ISP. At the same time, we acquired our own domain name. The new address is http://haydnphil.org (English). The site contains latest newsletter and archives. We created the database of more than 800 records of activities by Adam Fischer and the Haydn Orchestra, such as concerts, operas and recordings. Our home page provides a search function. You can search the detail by date, place, work title etc. There is much statistic information like "Top 10 concert repertoires", "Top 20 Cities". New information is added frequently.

This issue of Baráom reported on Adam Fischer's activities in Mannheim. As we
mentioned in the article, the Fan Club is collaborating on information gathering or
assistance in English and Japanese with the Mannheim School project. In the future, we
hope to be involved in Adam Fischer's new plan more actively.
These days Internet has become very popular. We shall still keep distributing our
newsletter on paper; however, sometimes there isn't enough space to report detail. In this
case, web site contains additional information. If you have Internet connection, please
check our home page.
