Editorial Note

During the summer regular opera houses were closed and everybody enjoys the vacation, however, Adam Fischer is very busy and has no time for a holiday. He appears at the Zurich Opera Festival (“Aida”), Munich Opera Festival (“Der Fliegende Holländer” and “Parsifal”), Bayreuth Festival (“Parsifal”), Salzburg Festival (“Ascanio in Alba”) and of course the Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt. For Adam Fischer summer is not season off. In this issue, we have reported about the “Parsifal” and “Aida” both is very important opera repertoires for Adam.

After the festival the next season starts. During this season, the Austro-Hungarian Haydn Orchestra celebrates its 20th birthday. The first concert was in May 1987 at Haydnsaal. Ever since they started, the orchestra made a big achievement including Haydn’s entire symphony recordings. The fan club is planning to make a picture book about 20 years of history. If you have some interesting picture of the Haydn Orchestra and Adam Fischer, please let us know.

Next issue will be the report of international Haydntage, and some of summer festival activities.
