Between February and April, Adam Fischer was very busy at Vienna and Budapest. After Mahler Symphony No. 8, he conducted Kodaly “Háry János” with Hungarian text at Budapest. Since this year is 40th memorial year of death of Kodaly, the revised production with German text will be performed at Vienna in late May.
In Vienna, he conducted his important repertories “Der Rosenkavalier” and “Fidelio”. He will conduct at the Placido Domingo debut 40th anniversary gala concert on May.19th.
Since he is very popular in the Opera world, there is an opera house hoping to have him as music director. Currently they are in negotiation but it may be possible to announce it in the near future.
In the next issue we report the Ring” half cycle in Budapest.
