This is the No. 60 of fan club quarterly newsletter ‘Barátom’. It has been fifteen years since the fan club is started. Since then, the fan club address is changed several times from Japan, to USA, then now in Germany.
Adam Fischer and the Haydn Orchestra have experienced some ups and downs during last fifteen years. They completed the monumental entire Haydn Symphony recordings but the Nimbus record faced insolvency just two weeks before the final edition was on sale. But the Brilliant label bought the license and released the entire symphonies in very reasonable price.
Adam Fischer became the chief conductor of Danish Radio Sinfonietta and GMD of National Theater Mannheim, Hungarian Radio Symphony Orchestra. He made a dramatic debut in Bayreuth Festival. We are very glad that in this milestone edition, we report a big success of his own Wagner festival in his home town.
Haydn Festival in Eisenstadt evolved and now prospers. We will report the
20th anniversary of the festival, and the start of Adam’s Hungarian State Opera
in the next issue.
